Emily + Ben: "From Bumble to Betrothed"
The Couple
Some love stories feel like they’re meant to be from the start. That’s how it was for Emily and Ben, who first met in 2018 through the modern match-maker [app], Bumble. They found love in the Windy City and when they met, Ben was the newcomer in town while Emily, the seasoned city dweller had made Chicago her home since college. A genuine spark was evident, even on their initial dates. They discovered a shared love of food, wine, travel, and dogs - ultimately certifying that they were both what each other was looking for, prompting them to quickly bid adieu to Bumble.
Fast-forward a few years, a move to New York, and countless adventures later, and they were ready to take the next step in their relationship.
The Proposal
On a crisp, beautiful day in Brooklyn, Ben and Emily followed their usual Saturday morning ritual—coffee and bagels in hand, they strolled through Prospect Park. Unbeknownst to Emily, Ben had meticulously scouted the perfect, private spot on Google Maps to pop the question.
Though she had her suspicions leading up to the moment (a woman just knows!), Emily was still overwhelmed when Ben got down on one knee. And just when she thought the surprises were over, her best friend appeared (Ben arranged her to fly in) at the park to celebrate with them. It was an emotional, joy-filled moment—one they’ll cherish forever.
The Ring
Honoring their practical nature, Emily and Ben chose to design the engagement ring together, not only to create her ideal ring, but to enjoy the overall experience with one another. Though Emily initially envisioned herself with an emerald cut diamond and three-stone setting, her classic heart led her to a stunning round brilliant diamond with a hidden halo and a pavé band. Ben took the reigns for the finalization of the ring and the first time she saw it finished was when he proposed, and she states it was even more breathtaking than she had imagined.
Their journey to the perfect ring wasn’t without a few bumps, but when they found G.St and worked with one of the senior engagement ring specialists, everything fell into place. They felt heard, respected, and truly excited about the process—an experience they still talk about to this day.
Eighteen months later, now married, Emily still looks down at her ring with the same joy, knowing it was the perfect choice.
