Congratulations to G.St couple Elizabeth and Steve! Working together with engagement specialist Molly, they created a special engagement ring designed by Jennie Kwon.
"I had fallen in love with Jennie Kwon's modern yet timeless aesthetic, and it was so helpful to have Molly there to put into words what I was envisioning for the ring that would feel most "me,” says Elizabeth.
To maintain an element of surprise, Steve took things from there when it came to finalizing the engagement ring with Molly.
Molly worked with Steve to source a round brilliant diamond to set within one of Jennie Kwon's settings. By communicating with Elizabeth during their first appointment, she was able to gather her appreciation for Jennie's original designs that fuse delicate details like milgrain and side diamonds with vintage inspired accents. Together they landed on the Melody engagement ring setting and worked with the designer to add their own special touches to it.
Steve popped the question during Thanksgiving weekend while they were both visiting his parents in Dartmouth, Massachusetts.
“The proposal was something we had talked about for a long time, but seeing Steve down on one knee was so surreal,” says Elizabeth. “There is a really beautiful, quiet beach near his parents' house and it's become a special spot for us. Every time we are visiting Dartmouth we usually take a walk there. This time, I had a feeling it might be happening as we headed towards the beach...So exciting and nerve-wracking all at once! Steve started talking about how special this place is for us, and then bam! He was down on one knee and pulled out the ring!”
Elizabeth looked down at the engagement ring in disbelief. She loved the Melody design, and was captivated with the design elements Molly and Steve added to it, which was the bezel setting and tapered baguette diamonds.
“The ring is honestly more beautiful than I could have imagined. It was important to me that Steve also loved the ring and felt like he played a role in designing it. To get to wear something everyday that we both helped to shape is really special.”
With the help of Steve’s parents, the proposal was captured on camera, too. He had asked his dad to hide and take a few photos, so after the big moment his parents emerged from the trees near the beach with champagne.
“I'd been going through all of the emotions I "might" feel once the proposal happened, but I never expected to feel so content and at ease. It's been really wonderful to enjoy this newly engaged time,” says Elizabeth.
Cheers, Elizabeth and Steve! We are SO happy for you two and honored to be a small part of your love story. We wish you both many moments of joy together and a lifetime of love.
